On this episode of the podcast, we’re off to Switzerland. Almost immediately, we both had good impressions of Switzerland…. perhaps, you could even say it was love at first sight for us! We started our week in Switzerland in the adorable town of Bern, where we rented bikes and rode around, swam in the fresh water river, and enjoyed wandering around the scenic, small city. Although Switzerland is undeniably beautiful, it is also undeniably expensive, and we found ourselves cooking all of our meals because we simply couldn’t afford to eat out. In this episode, we discuss budgeting in expensive countries, exploring foreign groceries stores, as well as cooking our own meals.
From Bern, we make our way to Interlaken, the adventure capital of Europe. Here, you can do everything from bungy jumping, sky diving, rafting, canyoning, and much more. We were definitely tempted to blow all of our cash on these adventure activities, but decided to choose one activity: canyoning. While canyoning, we did everything from repelling into the canyon, sliding down natural waterslides, and jumping into deep pools of water. The entire experience was both rewarding and fun. From Interlaken, we also did 2 hikes. The first hike was to Trummelbache falls, and the second we went from Schynige Platte to Grindelwald, spending 6 hours hiking through the jaw dropping Swiss Alps. It’s safe to say that hiking the Swiss Alps is one of our coolest travel memories.
Switzerland may have been expensive, but it definitely did not disappoint! Enjoy!
