2017 Holiday Guide for Travelers

Travelers generally travel with all of their possessions backed into a backpack that they carry on their backs, or in a small suitcase that they haul around. That means, they don’t need much! After 7 years of travel, we’ve got a few ideas of what to buy the traveler in your life!

Here’s a list of traveler-friendly gifts for the travel lover in your life:

Kindle

We both used to add so much extra weight to our bags carting around books everywhere we went. Purchasing Kindle’s was a game changer! Not only can we buy any book we want with one click, but we also save so much space and weight with the Kindle since it’s small and lightweight and super easy to pack in our carry on.

Sleep Master Sleep Mask

We’ve both tried a couple of different sleep masks, and this one is easily the best! It has velcro at the back to make sure it’s a snug, yet comfortable fit, and it covers the entire eye to make sure that no light gets in. A sleep mask is essential when you’re traveling and sleeping in different places every couple of nights!

Bose SoundLink around-ear wireless headphones

When you’re spending most of your time in hostels and on trains, planes, and buses, noise cancelling headphones can be amazing to help you get extra sleep or to get work done (depending on what type of traveler you are! Either way, they are a total game changer for making travel more pleasant and enjoyable!

AirBnb Gift Card

AirBnb is our favorite website for accommodation! We love being able to have more of a local experience, as well as being able to have a kitchen to cook our own food and being able to settle into someone’s home, as opposed to staying in a hostel or hotel. A gift card from AirBnb is the perfect gift for the travel lover in your life!

Travel Packing Cubes

Packing cubes will change your life! We started traveling with packing cubes after our first big backpacking trip and they allow us to stay so much more organized and keep our dirty clothes separated from our clean clothes! 😉

Travel Journal

Every traveler needs a great travel journal to document their trip! There are tons of great journals out there to inspire writing about the highs and lows of the trip, favorite cities, memories and new friends made!

TripIt Pro Membership

TripIt is the best travel app out there! It automatically imports your travel plans from your email into an easy-to-use app so you can see all of your upcoming flights and hotel reservations in one place. You get updates on flight changes, check in times, etc. We would be lost without TripIt keeping us on track during our travels!

Kosan Travel Pack System

The Kosan Travel Pack System is revolutionizing the world of backpacks, and they are also Canadian! This is a great gift for the traveler in your life (if you’re looking to spend a bit more on them, that is). Every traveler needs a good backpacking system, and this one is awesome!

The Yellow Bird Natural Skincare

These products are natural, and so, so nice plus they last forever. As travelers, we need to take care of ourselves in a minimal capacity, and these products go along way and save you from needing to stock up in a foreign country where you don’t trust the brand or the ingredients. Pocket Pharmacy from Saje Natural Wellness

We don’t go anywhere without our pocket pharmacy from Saje Wellness! It has an essential oil for immunity, digestion, headaches, stress and pain. It comes in a cute little package that is easy to throw in your carry on AND the oils are small enough that you can take them on the plane without worrying about having too many liquids.

lululemon Cosmetics Bag

We are all about keeping our stuff organized, and having a bag specifically for cosmetics and hygiene products really helps with that. This bag has pockets and spaces for your toothbrush, bobby pins, make up for the ladies out there, or hair gel for the men out there. It’s a great addition to your travel accessories to keep everything separated, clean and organized (because no one likes when shampoo spills all over their underwear!).

Manduka eKO Lite Yoga Mat

We’ve owned these mats for over a year now, and practiced yoga all over the world with them. They fold up super small and are very lightweight so that you can continue to stretch, practice yoga, or workout while on the road, without the burden of a super heavy mat!

Happy Holidays, happy shopping & happy travels!
